Bob brings more than 25 years of industry experience in agriculture to the Agri-Trend Network. He has worked with a variety of crops and soils across Manitoba and Saskatchewan and can help with fertility and manure management, annual crops, forages and some special and horticultural crops.

Bob attended the University of Manitoba where he earned his Diploma in Agriculture in 1983 and his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1989. He has continued to upgrade his knowledge over the years through a combination of industry training, practical experience and continuing education, and as a Certified Crop Advisor he is committed to ongoing education and training. He joined Agri-Trend Agrology because it is one of the industries best sources of knowledge and helps him stay current on new developments and technologies that impact the business of agriculture.

Most recently Bob advised growers on all aspects of their production as a Retail Agronomist for 4 seasons at a full service farm supply dealership. He represented Gustafson as a manufacturer’s representative to growers, retailers, custom applicators, extension personnel and the seed industry for 10 years working with seed treatments, seed coatings and application equipment. As a supplier representative he provided technical support for many projects to determine Best Management Practices as well as making numerous educational presentations and instructing segments of Pesticide Applicator Certification training. He also worked with Gustafson and Agriculture Canada assisting in field programs testing experimental herbicides, seed protection products, seed coatings, other seed applied technologies and working for plant breeders. He understands the regulatory environment and what it takes to start and operate a small business through his involvement in two small businesses operating in the waste management and environmental industries.

As agriculture and the environment become more regulated, and more emphasis placed on food safety and traceability, Bob can help growers achieve higher levels of management and take advantage of new opportunities. His business is based in Portage la Prairie and he looks forward to helping growers and livestock producers in South Central Manitoba grow their business and achieve their goals using the Science of Growth through Agri-Trend’s Strategic Crop Plan™  and other initiatives.
