AGRI-TREND USA welcomes new Sr. Agri-Coach, Rad Yager, based out of Camilla, GA, to our growing Network!

Rad Yager grew up in Atlanta Georgia far from any commercial farming. However, a passion for agriculture came through visits to his Grandfather’s farm near Cameron Texas. Many weeks were spent in the rich river bottom land learning about growing corn, cotton and cattle. There he met the local County Agent and decided to take the same career path of advancing sound agricultural practices. After graduating from the University of Georgia he became a County Agent in Mitchell County located in the Southwest corner of Georgia. He had a great mentor in Mr. Clifford Lee who taught him how to apply agronomic and pest management principles and build an educational program on working farms. Rad had a 30 year career with the University of Georgia’s School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences including seven years as the Superintendent of the C. M. Stripling Irrigation Research Park. While there he worked with many great scientists on research projects for all of the major row crops and many specialty crops. The work at this facility received a lot of attention and awards as irrigation management and water conservation continues to evolve into such important worldwide topics. Rad started gaining experience with soil moisture sensors in 1990 and specifically with capacitance probes around 2005. He is interested in sharing his knowledge and experience with people who want to put this technology to work in commercial agriculture. He lives in Camilla Georgia with his wife Becky where they both enjoy playing in their church band. He and Brad Mitchell own Certified Ag Resources Inc. which specializes in irrigation and data management.

AGRI-TREND USA Welcomes New Network Manager & Agri-Coach, Tom Gehring based out of Keuterville, ID, to our Network!

I currently reside in Keuterville, Idaho on the Camas Prairie. I grew up on a farm, and cattle ranch on the Camas Prairie. I was trained as a Technical Service Provider thru the NRCS, gaining a lot of experience in GPS mapping, computers, soils, and fertility. I was employed with Lewiston Grain Growers Cooperative from 1979—1992 and worked in agronomy as a field consultant. I then took a position with InterMountain Canola and helped introduce spring canola to the area from 1992-1996 where I helped managed the canola acres as a Production Agronomist. In 1996 I joined Primeland Cooperatives as Senior Agronomist and have worked throughout the Camas Prairie and surrounding areas. I helped start the use of mapping, computer field records, and other technical agronomy practices. I am Vice Chairman on the Board of Directors for Idaho Soil and Water Conservation District and am actively involved in conservation practices with producers along with pasture renovations and weed management as part of being a Board Member for the Idaho Grazing Committee. I am also a Certified Crop Advisor, a pilot, and a flight instructor. In my spare time I am a member of the National Ski Patrol and the Kueterville Cowboy Wildland Firefighter group. Agri-Trend caught my interest because they focus on good solid Agronomy and sell no input products. With just focusing on Agronomy, Agri-Trend Agronomists can help make confident decisions in order to help growers get the best return on their investment. With the excellent network available throughout Canada and the US, questions can be answered quickly and more accurately. I am also excited about the large menu of services within all of the Agri-Trend business units and what they can offer growers. I feel Agri-Trend can support my role to bring growers and coaches to the next level.
