    Agri-Trend Agrology Welcomes New Sr. Agri-Coach, John Mayko!

    Please join me and everyone associated with Agri-Trend Agrology in welcoming John Mayko as a new AGRI-TREND™ Agri-Coach and Sr. Agri-Coach! 


    John was born and raised on a mixed farm near Mundare, AB. After high school, he started his farming operation as well as attending the U of A studying agriculture. John obtained both a B.Sc. in Agriculture as well as a M.Sc. in Engineering Agrology.


    John’s off-farm career started by working at the U of A, involved in several fertility related projects for 2.5 years. While at the U of A, John also filled in as a substitute lecturer.


    He then went on to work in various roles in the Crop Production area at The Canola Council of Canada for almost 23 years, gaining wide experience in all the different roles of canola production.


    John is married to his wife, Pat, for over 30 years and they have been blessed with four children. John continues to reside with his family on their farm in the Mundare area where they raise primarily grains and oilseeds.


    John is eager to bring his extensive experience in canola and crop production as well as his practical approach to helping his clients succeed in their farming operation.

    This is our sixth transaction which involves new customers as well as repeat customers. The process which we have developed with our producers has created a demand for our Offsets which the marketplace has recognized as having higher quality than some of our competitors.     Our Network has Grown Again!

    AGRI-TREND Agrology Welcomes Agri-Coach Johnathon Nagel to our Growing Network!

    Johnathon was born and raised in Three Rivers, MI, USA.  He grew up on a 450-acre gladiolus farm where they grew the flowers for commercial corm production.  He worked on the farm full time for one year after high school and then worked on the production and management side of the business.


    Johnathon went to Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, for four years. He earned his degree in Plant Science.  Here he did some field-scale trials with corn and soybeans. He then returned to the family business after graduation until he and his wife moved to Lacombe, AB at the beginning of 2010.


    In March, Johnathon started working with Agri-Trend Agrology as a Scout.  He is excited to continue in the network as an Agri-Trend Agri-Coach working closely with Chris Solick, fellow Agri-Trend Agri-Coach. 


    He is eager to combine his experience in intensive agriculture with the power of the Agri-Trend Network in order to bring the best agronomic value to growers/clients.

    Phil Thomas Inducted into the Alberta Agriculture Hall of Fame

    On October 1st at a Gala Banquet, “Mr Canola” Phil Thomas was recognized by his peers and colleagues for his life-long devotion to the Agriculture Industry by being inducted into The Alberta Agriculture Hall of Fame.


     


    Celebrating with his family, friends and business associates, Phil expressed his deep love for the industry and how much working in Agriculture has meant to him. “I have been passionate about working in agriculture and helping farmers and have always felt that I got back far more than I put in.” said Thomas, “It has been a pleasure to work with farmers and the ag sector to advance our industry.”


     


    Phil, who had a distinguished career with Alberta Agriculture, has spent the last 6 years working with Agri-Trend Agrology Ltd as a Senior Agri-Coach. Phil’s energy is boundless. He wrote and contributed to hundreds of documents, articles, papers and is best recognized for his invaluable leadership in the production of The Canola Growers Manual of which over 30,000 copies have been distributed nationally and internationally.


     


    A energetic speaker and sought after diagnostician, Phil loves to work in the field where he can put his years’ of experience to work. He has taken his knowledge world-wide and was recognized for his international contributions by the People’s Republic of China for work done in that country. 


     


    Phil and his wife Elanor live in their country home near Lacombe, Alberta.

    AGRI-TREND Agrology Welcomes New Agri-Coach Lyndon Stoll to the Network

    Lyndon Stoll grew up on a grain farm west of Delisle, SK, growing certified seed.  His parents operate Stoll’s Seed Barn Ltd., a seed-cleaning business.


    He gained his technical training at the University of Saskatchewan where he completed his Dip.Ag. and BSA program with Agronomy majors.  Between the diploma and degree programs Lyndon gained practical experience on a one year scholarship program to Australia and New Zealand.  He worked on various farms including a 3,000+ head sheep mixed-farming operation and a 20,000 acre grain/cattle operation where he operated an Australian-made 100 foot air drill among other unique equipment.


    The rest of Lyndons’ experience came from three summers at a Bayer’s Canola Breeding facility as a Canola Breeding Associate and with Monsanto as a Technology Development Associate, dealing with round-up hybrid technologies.


    Lyndon is looking forward to working with the Agri-Trend Network through Wigmore Crop Production to assist his clients with their business.
