AGRI-TREND Agrology Ltd. Welcomes New Agri-Coach, Dan Fox!

Dan grew up and still resides in Brunkild, MB.  While growing up, he was very involved in the family grain farm and grandparents dairy and beef cattle operation.  He is still involved on the family farm, working alongside his dad.

Dan graduated from University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science in Ag Business.  While there, Dan was a member of the  U of M Bisons volleyball team.  His hobbies are many, but include hockey, snowmobiling, gardening, and he has even raised some chickens. Dan thinks that still being involved with family farm helps him to relate to his Agri-Trend farm customers even better.

Dan has already traveled to India, on exchange, and Australia as a farm worker, and enjoyed the experience of learning a bit about their farming practices.  He has also traveled to Dubai, New Zealand, Hawaii and a few mainland states as well.

He joined Brad Schnell's Agri-Coach business four years ago, and is looking very forward to this year. Dan says Brad has been a great mentor, and the AT Network has also helped him learn a lot.

His passion is watching things grow, and helping his customers grow better.  His number one reason for joining Agri-Trend Agrology, is the Agri-Trend Network.  He likes that he can get any question answered, very quickly, by somebody who knows the answer.  He also likes the fact that Agri-Trend recommendations are unbiased…Agri-Trend does not sell crop inputs.  And the ADS Pro data platform helps keep his customer’s information organized, and at the tip of his finger.

Dr. Ieuan Evans Inducted into The Alberta Agriculture Hall of Fame

On October 5th at a Gala Banquet, “Dr “Copper” Ieuan Evans was inducted into The Alberta Agriculture Hall of Fame in recognition for his outstanding contributions to our Agriculture Industry.

Celebrating with his family, friends and business associates, Ieuan gave a “short” acceptance speech.  Like a true leader, Ieuan expressed his thanks to the many government, municipal, industry and volunteer team players he worked with on the many projects that highlighted his amazing career.  "I worked with so many great people on so many great projects, it is hard to fathom everything we accomplished and continue to benefit from."

And it is an extensive list and includes:

Alberta Bacterial Ring Rot of Potatoes Prevention Program

Alberta Blackleg of Canola Prevention Program

    Alberta Fusarium Head Blight Prevention

Pioneering the use Copper fertilization in Field Crop Production

    Diagnostic Field School

    Sclerotinia Stem Rot in Canola

Provincial Dutch Elm Disease Prevention Program

    Fireblight in Fruit Trees

Ieuan, after a distinguished 35-year career with Alberta Agriculture as Provincial Plant Pathologist, has spent the last 10 years working with Agri-Trend Agrology Ltd as a Senior Agri-Coach where he continues to challenge conventional wisdom with his superior diagnostic skills for noticing the overlooked.

Ieuan has written and contributed to hundreds of documents, articles, papers including invaluable contributions to Diseases of Field Crops in Canada but he is likely best recognized for his work on the role of copper in crop production.

The farmers and the ag-industry continue to enjoy his somewhat irreverent manner and flock to hear him speak.  Ieuan loves to work in the field where he can put his years’ of experience to work.

Gala attendees were served dinner made with Alberta products and finished with a cheesecake dessert topped with “Evans Cherry” compote from his Alberta-developed Evans Cherry trees, which have sold in the millions across Canada and the US.

Ieuan lives in near Devon, Alberta where he breeds Martagon lilies and tinkers with many other plant species.

Dr Evans – congratulations to your well-deserved induction to The Alberta Agriculture Hall of Fame!
