AGRI-TREND® Agrology USA is pleased to welcome: Ken Uto as AGRI-TREND® Agri-Coach® based in Pomeroy, WA to our growing network!

Grew up in north central Oregon in small farming community, where my first paying job was rouging wheat fields, and I have been in wonder of agriculture ever since. I worked on the same farm thru all of my high school and college years and still found it exciting to go to work the next day. After completing college with a Bachelors of Science degree in Crop Science I went to work for a retail Ag Fertilizer and Chemical Company for several years. The opportunity to work with AGRI-TREND came by chance, but has stirred up the excitement of helping to grow crops again. The expertise of all the coaches combined is what I see as a key strength and adds value to the customer. With all my years in retail, I gained valuable knowledge and experience, which coupled with the AGRI-TREND network of coaches, will provide a solid foundation for agronomic coaching. We plan to stay in rural SE Washington.

AGRI-TREND® Agrology is pleased to welcome: Christopher Dufault as AGRI-TREND® Senior Agri-Coach® based Ottawa, ON to our growing network!

Christopher, who was raised near Waterloo, Ontario, has been an entomologist since his youth. This early enthusiasm inevitably led to his studying biology (BSc, Waterloo) and applied agricultural entomology (MSc, Guelph; PhD, Cambridge). He has worked as editor of The Grower newspaper, and in the agricultural chemical industry in sales, field and market research, and the registration of pesticides. Now a resident of Ottawa, Christopher retired in 2012 from the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) of the federal government where he worked in various aspects of pesticide regulation for 20 years. He started out in government preparing assessments of the environmental chemistry and fate and non-target effects of pesticides, followed by insecticide efficacy assessments, and finally, in his last 10 years at the PMRA, established and headed a section that was responsible for assessment of the value of pesticides under re-evaluation. Christopher's PhD research included monitoring both pest and non-target insects, and focused particularly on identifying factors that influence the efficacy of insecticides such as weather, and placement of residues in the crop. He is especially interested in the interplay between insect behaviour, stage-specific susceptibility to insecticides, and the behaviour of insecticide residues on the crop foliage and in the soil below it. He believes a good understanding of these factors can help target insecticide application more precisely with the goal of achieving the best possible level of control of an insect pest, or reducing the amount of insecticide applied, or both. Christopher is Principal at Christopher P. Dufault & Associates Inc. He is a director on the board of the Ontario Institute of Agrologists, and a long-standing member of the Entomological Societies of Ontario, Canada and America.

AGRI-TREND® USA is pleased to welcome: Lance Wilson as AGRI-TREND® Market-Coach® based in Helena, MT to our growing network!

Lance was born and raised in North Central Montana where he grew up being surrounded by agriculture. He was actively involved with his grandfather and uncle’s farm and ranch operation, and also worked for various Ag Businesses and producers around Conrad as he was in high school. He was very active in the local FFA Organization and competed in various local and state competitions. He was fortunate enough to be able to compete in several National FFA contests as well. After high school he split time between Montana State University, and MSU Northern in Havre, Montana. While working on several farm operations and other area Agri-businesses he completed an Associate’s Degree in Agricultural Operations Technology. After completing his degree he worked as a custom applicator for fertilizer and pesticide applications with Judisch Spraying Service and CHS out of Conrad, MT. Over the past 4 years he has studied the technical aspect of the commodity markets and has helped Brett and Brenda Wilson build and grow a market advisory service. He has spent this time assisting producers in cash sales and hedge opportunities, as well as trading the futures markets himself. With his understanding of technical analysis, seasonal tendencies, and fundamental news, Lance looks to continue adding profitability to producers operations through cash sales and hedging opportunities. Lance will provide an unbiased opinion on market direction without the emotional tie to the commodities. He feels that AGRI-TREND provides a network of Ag professionals that can assist producers operating decisions and ultimately add value to their bottom line. He is looking forward to helping AGRI-TREND expand into the US market force. Lance lives in Helena where he enjoys spending time in the outdoors; camping, hunting, and fishing. He is married with a son and daughter, and will be working from his home office.
